A story of favorite words

    I reached my fingers out to touch her face and smiled. The cool fall weather brushed around us.  I held her hand, and we sat together amidst the grass and flowers and leaves. I would always wonder the words she thought only to herself, as she leaned against me silence. When a memory comes to mind, I smile in fondness. Fall was my favorite time, when the light seemed dim. The story of her would unfold before me, like the turning of the leaves. She always looked far away. Far away from where I was anyways.
   I would hold on to her, or the memory of her, for a long time after that.
